Hello,

I'm a newbie and I was wondering if it is possible to export Pro ress from RCX? I'm using beta build 356 and can't find the option anywhere. Have I missed something?

Thanks,

Chris

Is FCS installed on your machine? You'll need the full codec, the free version is decoding only. ProRes export is working fine for me.

Yep what Uli said - you have to have Final Cut Pro at least to get the ProRes coder option! :(

Another quick question. I'm trying to import an EDL into RCX and I'm having a hell of a time. Am I missing something?

Thanks.

Give XML a try. And you can do a search for mikael's XML2RCX, which is a very easy to learn little tool we used on quite some occasions coming from fcp. Not sure whether that's available for other nle's as well though.

You can try XML, but you shouldn't need XML2RCX with build 356. As far as the EDL goes, what problem are you having? Most likely you are missing something. Can you provide more detail about your workflow?

David

Can the ProRess codec be installed on another computer, eg Mac mini ? Or is it part of FCP ?
Or can I just use ProRes 4444 with OSX 10.6.x ?
Is ProRes also part of DVD Studio Pro ? Because I can create ProRes flles with my MacBook Air without FCP, but DVD Studio Pro is install on that MacBook Air...

The ProRes encoder is part of the FCS installation. So, legally, you can't install it without a FCS license.
But you are free to install less than the full package, so if DVDSP is the latest version, it is probably installed with the codec.
