I'm on a feature, and over the last few days, I've been having a weird problem, where my camera suddenly looses power, as if someone just unplugged the battery (no count down). It's happened five times in three shooting days, to date, and so far, it always happens with batteries between 15 and 25%. It's happened both when rolling and in stand by. I couldn't find any other posts that suggested others having similar problems (though it's a hard problem to search for). I'm going to re-install the firmware, but just wanted to check to see if anyone else had seen the same problem.

Thanks in advance for your collective wisdom!

And could be battery plate. Submit a supportnticket on red.com, if you have not already.

Yeah, I had this, was the battery plate.

Until you get it sorted get your hands on a Red belt pack so you can bypass the plate.

Doesn't seem to be the battery plate. It's only occurred with batteries that were lower than 25%, and since we've been changing batts before they get low, there hasn't been any recurrance. Mysterious... Not an MX upgrade (waiting to trade for an Epic...woulda paid for the MX upgrade if I'd known how long the wait would be). Red Bricks.

If you have not already, file a support ticket on RED.com. They will troubleshoot with you on shooting environment and equipment....

I had the problem on a panavised MX. Needless to say I was severly yeld at for ruining the take... The battery was a 20%... other batteries did the same thing between 12 and 25%.

The Red battery plate Panavision had was obviously tricked. Not backlash with the contact, but the complete battery+plate wasn't plugged like on my own Red. It moved.
