The fact that the Epic can shoot two streams simultaneously got me thinking whether it could use such functionality for other advances. The one's I've come up with so far include:
Different base rates
Being able to shoot 24 fps and 25 fps base rates simultaneously could make global distribuition easier and cheaper by having post production setup to exchange edit, colour correction and effects between the differing timelines. Alternatively for future 3D releases we might record 24 fps and 48fps simultaneously? Whatever, the option might want to exist for a range of circumstances.
Normal and Slow motion
On track A we have the normal stream recorded and on track X you have a slow motion version recorded. Naturally it'd be impacted by the speed of the recording media but as that and the epic grows perhaps this could too.
Stills and Motion
track A would record the motion according to the motion settings and track X would record the still according to the stills settings such as different ISO, shutter speed etc etc. The user could remote trigger using the Redmote when they wanted to take a shot whilst recording motion or simply set it to take stills periodically.
Just some ideas anyway.
