For those of you who can't look at the footage in RedCine-X, I've uploaded 1080p clips to my Vimeo account.

One ungraded, one graded and one 100% crop at 1080p.

I suggest you download the .m4v files to skip Vimeo's double encode.

What makes people think it is ok to post this footage on sites that require the uploaded to have the rights to?

What makes people think it is ok to post this footage on sites that require the uploaded to have the rights to?

The reasoning is:

RED made the footage publicly available to "play with", allowing us to download it to our own computers without stating any restrictions.

In my mind, posting it on forums with hoards of potential customers, unedited, or with slight adjustments to saturation and contrast, should rather help spread the word on Scarlet and what it can do.

Scarlet is a high end cinema tool, but it is within reach of many, many more than say—Epic.

I won't exactly categorize it as "fair use", but the footage goes towards discussing the actual product in a review context. I also didn't put the footage on a personal site where it might be considered driving profit.

And lastly I came here, AT ONCE, stating what I had done for the sake of transparancy, so that RED could tell me to remove the footage.

But, since you now raise these doubts, I will ask Jarred directly.
