A MAN AND AN MX: Luxury Pond

[David Battistella]

Hey all,

Just a short music video I did on the RED MX.

http://www.vimeo.com/18154913

I did this completely by myself with my RED1 -MX. It scares me to think how it's only going to be more compact and easy to do now with EPIC.

Sheesh. Filmmaking is fun again!

It's a really nice video, David.

Did you utilize a color pass filter in post?

Graded in Apple Color from the original r3d's, redgamma2, redcolor2. Primaries and secondaries. I also used some film grain. I'm liking a kind of desaturated feel these days.

That good old Nikon Glass.

Used the 17-35, 28-70 and an 85 prime on the close ups. It's all lit to about F4 rated at 320.

Good stuff David! Thanks for sharing!

Well done camera work, I'd push the grade a little more, I think your footage deserves it.

[Sean Rawls]

Hey,

Really nice work. Conceptually very consistent. Although it may have been a budget concern I enjoyed the static compositions and purposeful camera moves.

Thanks,

[David Battistella]

Shawn and Sean,

Thanks. I think I could have pushed the grade a bit more. I agree and I might experiment with that.

I went for a static style because I was on my own. I had planed some more jib shots during certain sections but opted for a more stoic approach.

Love the feedback. Thanks!
