It would be the equivalent of a LCD monitor, not the BOMB EVF. As far as I know, LCD monitors are shipping reliably, so this would not be a big advantage over what we already have.

The iPhone's Retina Display is actually a bit lower resolution, and a different aspect ratio, than the existing external monitors, so it probably wouldn't be a popular option if available.

If only there was a hack that enabled video input through the cable port (no lag). Maybe one of the new tablets or iPad2 will allow this.
