I'm on Mac Pro but also have got an error during installation the newest RCX 356 and can't get RR card working up anymore.

Also tried out with pulling the card out and again in but didn't help.

Using Qt version 4.7.0, compiled against 4.7.0
Unable to open Red Rocket: 0 for decode - Error: 12

Please email redcinex at red so the team can follow up directly.

Thanks Deanan,

I'll do it tomorrow.

No rush and have a nice Christmas holidays.

Sanjin it seems you use the 32 bit version, but thats not the problem...
Have you tried to install the driver again and then doing the firmware flash?
After reinstalling the driver make a cold restart... can you show us your systemprofiler what that says after that....
deanan and his team will help you for sure....

Thanks Rainer.

I did reinstalling of the driver and also booted from another SSD system drive but no help and will soon sent the log file to Deanen as he was requested.

Interesting thing I just discovered for the first time when was pulling it out from desktop machine that RR card was assembled in Germany by DVS that is actually the maker of Clipster.

Good to know about the quality of the maker and the card.

Have a nice holidays.

RCX356 is asking for the RR driver/firmware that is not open to public yet I think. It asks for 1.4.1.2 driver and the firmware 1.1.14.14 which are not from 1.3.5c installer.

RCX 356E (not RCX 356) needs a special epic version of the firmware not available yet.

Absolutely fantastic and fast RED Team support during Christmas holidays

RED Rocket card is assembled in Germany by DVS Digital Video Systems AG from Hannover and they are maker of DVS Clipster.

Maybe it should tell you something about quality of RED products.

This is just to confirm this above written quote in pictures.

I think this was part of the original discussion.

Looks like someone you know?

But the firmware and functionality is not identical...

I don't know whack about the hardware, it may be different, and I wouldn't bet my living on installing RocketFirmware on an Atomix...

From the spec sheet they look more like close relatives than identical twins:

The rocket has the jpeg200 extension (I guess) but no rs 422... -:)

RR card should be more like a Clipster video card that is "reduced" to a level just to work with R3D files only.

Also I'm not an engineer and can't say more precisely about an architecture specs of the card.

I know them personally since we are cooperating during camera and post summer camps for professionals (Hannover is only 60 km away from my university) and they keep their mouths shut about any further details.

So, all we'll know is that a company with an excellent reputation is behind that card.
