  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

SxS Module for Red?

Let me alter the question slightly. What is the possibility of an ProRes transcoder module that would take SxS cards or Red CF cards(I believe these would be plenty fast) that could produce both 422 and 4444 files for editorial?

If these ProRes files are based are on record out signals they should be equivalent to those from the Aja Ki Pro and and superior to those XDcam(compressed) ProRes from the Nano Flash.

Would be great to extend the investment in Red CFs and the Red CF Reader, and work within a group of workflows being requested by post houses.

Being SxS based would not be terrible as most of us have Exp34 slots and could adapt.

Thanks and by the way the Red CF Reader is very nicely engineered, thanks for that.

Ray.

Given the number of threads and comments on Recon requesting a ProRes module that have been deleted on RedUser recently (but live on in my RSS reader), I would say that it's pretty unlikely this will ever be delivered by RED. Shame really, but ultimately RED's choice I supppose, or something they are unable to deliver at this time.
