BRENT:
is the RedRocket installer 1.3.5c---the only difference being the firmware from what i see which is version 1.1.10.2 ---is that correct? I noted this since i had been running 1.3.5 for a few weeks already, but then as of today on R.U. there was a link for using Storm's beta verson 4 and you need the new 1.3.5 RR installer which seems to be the same only the firmware changed...That still the case as of the last few hours?

That's all correct. The new firmware fixes an issue with certain older clips that would fail to decode properly.

YES! Thank you!

ROCK AND ROLL. Just in time for another Color Grading session!

REDgamma2 and REDcolor2 on Apple Color is absolutely stunning.

One think I noticed is with the gamma2 selected the Shadow Luma works like the brightness (reflects the whole range going up and down relatively) instead of just influencing the lift, so I'd have to adjust the Luma curve to get what I want. But the result is amazing.

It is actually, the same thing on the REDlogfilm gamma. So it seems what I was adjusting the Shadow Luma to get closer to the solid black, with the new Color plugin 4.4, I'd be adjusting the midtone luma more. Is this how it seems to be, Graeme?

Also...

The Shadow HS affects the whole range instead of just the shadow area.
I don't know if Colorists can be adjusted to this change. It will hinder Colorists to quickly balance things with the balls and wheels.

These changes obviously improve the high dynamic range shots with MX sensor cameras. The shots I had harder time making it look nicer with the previous color science would come out nicer with the new gamma2 and adjusting more parameters but normal clips that didn't require extra steps to make it nice now require more steps.

Please let us know the secret Greame!

Edit: I just rendered one clip and came back with codec error. After the codec error happening, the codec error happens all over.
