Wow! How very cool... just a little bit jealous of you all. I guess I should be thankful I got to hold shoot an Epic last week, but that was just, well, last week. So do you guys have any more details on it. Being a fixed lens, does that mean there will only be one lens option? Also, how does the focus aperture ring work?

Heh heh BigLu has become a bit of a staple here at the studio.. the guy is always here, usually working a show or at an event. Its nice to have friends like Lu.. specially big friends like Lu

Im beside myself and excited by the power of this camera.

What's the image quality like?

Ketch I think the Scarlet was made for my pockets it seems like it will fit in my pocket and hands of course.
I will no doubt use it in hand held modes for live events and concerts, I also plan on taking it out on the NCAA and NFL field next year due to how light weight it is and how i can handle it. Time to shoot some slowmo football.

Image quality like? Well the screen is as you can image amazing but we did not view the image on the huge monitor so i cant comment on that.

Ted did show us the Epic on a large projection screen for a significant time and that image quality was with out a doubt the best image quality i have ever seen from any camera ever, Not the best projector ever just best image direct from an HDMI cable. It was pushed on low light, it was digitalized zoomed in to show its power it was pushed to do things you just dont do to a digital cameras image.
Results the entire class was in absolute awe and its one of the reasons i am completely convinced that in many ways it is far beyond 35mm FILM.
Now heres the real kicker this was played on a $2,000.00 1080 projector it only gets better after that.
That price could be off but i feel its in that range.
