  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Is the RP188 metadata available on the RED ONE HDMI o/p?

Does anyone know the answer to this?
It would be great to know if RP188 stream outputs RECORD FLAGS and FILENAME via the HDMI port of the RED ONE.

Not sure about the Filenames, but i´m sure about the Record Flags via HD-SDI since Teradek´Cube allows automated proxy recording. I don´t know about the HDMI output.

Hi Manual, sorry I did not make myself clear. My requirement for RP188 metadata via HDMI is not for the purpose of Cube recording as I have read this doesn't work. I wondering if it would be possible to

a) have RP188 metadata out of the HDMI o/p of the RED Camera?
b) Send this information wirelessly via the Brite-View (or any other box) to a receiver?
c) this signal could hopefully be converted to HDSDI for recording with the RP188 information intact!

This is probably too much ask and is probably only possible with expensive BOXX HDSDI transmitter/Receivers....

Thanks for that. Do you think RP188 would get stripped out if converted From HDSDI to HDMI?

AFAIK no existing solution allows for the meta data to be converted from HD-SDI to HDMI, not sure if it's feasible.

Cube's v4.3 s/w (ETA 1/1/2011) will Support Red One's HDMI, with some caveats, and no camera controlled proxy recording.

We are working on passing RP188 out of Cube receiver, no clue yet if or when it will work. I think native integration of Cube Encoder's IP stream into Qtake is more elegant, but Vlado will have to confirm if he agrees on his end.

... decoding with RP188 will be very useful indeed!
