Hey,

I know that in these days everybody get focus on the EPIC and the productions Hobbit and Spider-Man what will shot on the RED's precious cam. But I think here there are a lot of people who are really looking for the RED's LADY.

Would be that possible to demand a couple of footages by the SCARLET? (Clips, Stills, Photos) I think they would be happy with any of that, include me. :)

Let's see how many user will join to this demand, and I hope JIM and other great guys in RED will notice this.

Best wishes for you all!

I second that.

Even if the firmwares for these cameras are far from final, test/video shots & few .R3D samples would be really appreciated.

Based on Jim's announcement, I think we are all due for a pretty important Scarlet update soon. Buckle up

I don't think it will have much to do with displaying footage though - it will be about revised specs.

The potential SCARLET user base doesn't seem to understand that EPIC footage and SCARLET footage will be using very similar, if not identical, sensor technology. You won't be getting a compromised image. You will be getting a different feature set and form factor.

So asking for separate footage examples doesn't really amount to anything.

What you will see, shortly, with machined EPICs reporting in from the field, and what you already see with the limited EPIC footage which is already available, will be representative of SCARLET's image quality.

Certainly very true for what was the S35 Scarlet.

But I think those interested in the 2/3" Scarlet are just interested to see motion footage period - there is only the years old shot of Izzy and recent 00:01 clip of the lens focusing. And at the 2/3" size I'm interested to see what impact the different photosite/pixel size has, and I'm sure people (including myself) are very interested to see some of the 120fps footage, the impact of HDRx™ on the smaller sensor, and the look of the noise when ISO gets pushed a bit when shooting in the dark. And then there is something to be said for footage shot with the RED mini-primes, if nothing more than to show off their imaging characteristics...

I don't know... I think there is plenty to show, even given that the two sensors are no doubt closely related!

Personally I would be curious for the 2/3 Scarlet Interchangeable. Jim said that they will publish the final specifications 6 months before the release date.

So if they would give the specs. today (and i think they wont :)), the first possible release date is May 2011, (again if they would give the infos today.) So I am afraid of we wont keep in our hand Scarlet before next year's christmas.. Or at least second part of the year..

I might be wrong... but I think when Jim said that, he was refering to future products... not Scarlet and Epic. He seems to be saying that they have learned from there mistakes.

You are correct. He was not talking about Scarlet or Epic. Just that no longer will they announce products years in advance, thus, giving their competitors fair warning (and people something to bitch about when deadlines not met) instead they would just announce them about 6 months before they are released as most companies do. This will also help them to meet deadlines much more efficiently.

I see, so i wasn't correct and I understood it incorrect, sorry for that. So what do you think when will they release THE LADY?

With the recent release of the Ikonoscop Camera, I wish the next hing they'll announce will be something like "oh well, we decided to make the sensor 16mm" (or 4/3 why not... And of course I want them to tell us the release date and to see some footage, as everyone does^^)
