another red drive issue...

I have 2 red drives.. one mounts to both my macpro and my macbook pro, in leopard and snow leopard.. and the other one mounts to my macbook pro.. but not to my macpro in either OS's.

im using FW800 (which i had replaced in july)

I dont think its a fw issue.. because it mounts in other computers..

I have reformatted in camera, in computer multiple times.. and it still wont mount.

the only new thing i did was ad a new fw 800 card to my macpro..

but still, one of my red drives still mounts. so i dont get it
(and yes, ive tried both ports)

any ideas before i send this bitch into red for another replacement?

you've tried it on all the fw ports on mac pro?

are you using power adapter?

have you tried usb or fw 400?

I have one 320gb drive that only mounts via USB or FW 400 and only with the power adapter plugged into it. However, both my 640gb's mount to anything via FW800 without power. RED said minimum $250.00 to fix so I'm limping along until SSD.

I already paid to have my fw 800 port fixed.. and this is the first time ive used this drive since it was repaired..

i paid around 400 for the fix

again, do the other ports work and it's just fw800 that's not work on the mac pro? if it mounts on usb and fw400, something could be off on the fw800. voltage or otherwise.

I would send it back to RED. Something is not right.
