  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New color science...

um we are going to require an r3d of this immediatly. Ahem! to uhh check the um alpha channels and uh look at the uh curves...of the RGB ahem...

The thing to note on this shot is I did nothing to the color. Only set WB and adjusted curves.

... are just like your eyes would see.

better than my eyes would see!.

Funny, I was so busy looking at the skin tones and wondering about the depth of field from the tiny hairs on her shoulder to her face that it wasn't till much later that I noticed she had no top on.

They Will Get it.

They Will Get it.

Graeme Nattress....YOU DESERVE AN OSCAR, as does the rest of the RED team

They will get not one but many. If they do not we Will REDvolt against the organizers.
In Fact I am almost sure they will get many for years to come. Knowing RED they will be at the cutting edge with this stuff. while Sony and the rest will be Pulling their hair out.

ACS magazine December issue says the new color science was developed together with Company 3 for "Pirates 4". Correct?

Co3 among others provided feedback.

Graeme

Loving the new colour science. its so nuanced and allows for much better adjustments and outcomes. this only keeps getting better. wish it was already in all the plugins

The latitude was always there... we just needed to mine it out. Looks like the R1 was better than we even thought. :-)

Jim

The R1 has an interesting contrasty characteristic the MX wishes it had. LOL, I'm just joking. But seriously the R1 is a fabulous camera that continous to shine.

This is from an M Sensor. Shot by Greg Williams (with help from Jarred) and graded in REDCINE-X with the new REDcolor2 and REDgamma2. Nice skin tones.

This is just amazingly beautiful, very thick, natural and organic. I keep looking at this image trying to find something digital about it.
