  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New color science...

Graeme is an artist - color science is technically driven art, as, if you think about it, it represents a way of seeing the world.

If only you knew the care I took to make nice curves, continuous at every point, smooth and precise.

Graeme

Graeme,

I love your Floating Point Curves.

I assume there was a Learning Curve, as well.

Keep up the staggeringly great work. I am more than impressed.

When Epic is finally understood by the industry, I truly believe that
Red Digital Cinema deserves a Technical Achievement Award by the Academy.

Graeme, great to see you back on the forum with some regularity. Does this imply that you have Magic Motion and HDRx to a point where you are satisfied?

Jim! Not sure if you saw my A/B comparison, but I am IN LOVE with RedGamma2. Seriously, feels like magic. Like I went back in time and got an extra stop of latitude!!

Not that you have any obligation to do so, but I still offer my respect that you continue to improve your interface with 3rd parties. It would be easy to just point to RedCineX, which you offer at no cost, and say "problem solved" and move on.

As an owner-operator who works in multiple genres of production native r3d support in the major NLEs & FX packages can be a deal-MAKER. IMHO wide propagation of the newest color and gamma matrices into popular workflows with the improved skin tones and color accuracy will eradicate one of the last bastions of the anti-RED folk.

Thanx- #19

I wish there was a "LIKE" button as in the way it is done on Fb... I could give my praise without adding noise!

In short, amazing how my hunk-O'-Metal, AKA R1, keeps getting better with one purchase, I get new cameras at least 1X per quarter!

Thank you to Graeme, Jim and the crew!

The latitude was always there... we just needed to mine it out. Looks like the R1 was better than we even thought. :-)
