  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Hey guys,

My names Oliver Williams, I'm 18 and a Red One MX and RPP owner. I live in the UK but am a UK/US dual citizen (which allows me to work in the US), I am looking to move over to LA for 4 months to gain on-set experience. I have been using my own Red for a year now on corporate videos, documentaries and shorts. I have also completed a Red D.I.T and Red Cinematography course. I would be happy to bring my Red equipment out and work for experience and some expenses. If anybody is interested or would like to talk more please email me on oliver@studio-8.co.uk .

You don't have to go to LA to get experience - as awesome as it may sound. There's plenty of shoots etc. in the UK that would be happy to have a free RED and DIT on board.

And I may as well say it: 18??? Slightly jealous - I was getting £50 a week as a runner. Rent was £60 a week.

I HOPE it was not sarcastic, as it would be completely out of place and context..

I have done TONE of work just for Experience, SPEC work, to learn how to use my own
gear, to gain perspective of Professional working environment, to introduce my self
and or my small start up company and so on..

So I applaud what you are doing.. besides 18?? God Bless you for yours opportunity
and spirit.. BEST OF LUCK!!

Btw, if when back in Italy during and or after the Opening of Ketch Rossi Studios, I'll be honored to have you visit.
 
Just Wow you are 18 and own Red MX thats awesome.Im 23 and barely spent 2500$ for my 7D rig (looking forward to buy Scarlet in next year)
this may sound funny but i have to ask.You paid ca$h money for Red One? (i didnt have 15K $ cash when i was 18 lol )

You're 18. You have a Red One MX and the RPP's. And from the looks of it, the right attitude. You're well on your way.

I am sure you can tell by the response you've recieved, a ton of people would love to be in your shoes myself included.

If Central America ever opens up for you as an option to shoot, let me know. I'd be happy to host you here in Honduras.

I'm suprised you dont have a ton of people here in the uk biting your hand off, you have a very good attitude for somebody of 18 (or any age for that matter). I run a recording studio in Northampton (www.hotrockstudio.co.uk)
and also make music video's from there too and I wouldn't hesitate to have you on a set.
