I caught the 11pm show of SKYLINE last night in Burbank, and while (in my opinion) the film itself isn't exactly perfect, the cinematography is terrific. Congrats Michael Watson, well done. It's definately worth a ticket.

Michael is a stand up dop. Great guy, I was lucky enough to be his gaffer for the show! Everyone go see it it's quite a fun time.

The Brothers Strause's ambitious film, Skyline, was shot with the Red One MX camera. From the outset, the directors wanted to work natively with the full dynamic range of the camera's sensor; this offered them greater creative freedom by preserving all of the precision and dynamic range seen on set through every step of the pipeline. OpenEXR, directly extracted from the RED native raw format, is a standard visual effects format, and has been implemented by Digital Vision for real-time DI and color grading. The team at Hydraulx and The Brothers Strause determined that the entire post process, from start to finish, would remain in OpenEXR, making Skyline the first live action motion picture to be completely finished in this format.

If you have the time, listen to the Nov 3 fxguide podcast. Excellent info on how Red MX made a positive impact on how the movie was shot, not just picture quality either. Whether or not you like Skyline, it's worth a listen.
