  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

12 Seconds....

Hello Guys, and thanks to all of you for your work.

Maybe can we consider the same thing for Scarlet ?

Be nice if they can shave it a bunch more for scarlet. In the doc world, especially in wildlife things happen fast.

this sounds absolutely great.

There's only one battery in the grip, right?

cheers
G
Which begs another question... Do more modules, batteries, etc. require more time to boot up?

I'm like bursting!
If someone says to me again that 5D is as good as RED I'm going to POP!

I caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaant wait till I have one in my hands in DSLR mode. Shooting 120 Fps in 5k with 18 stops!.
No modules, just a SSD strapped to the side and pocket full of batteries.

And I don't care if it's 30 seconds of boot time!

KISS (keep it simple stupid)

Michael, Red has pre-record options (Red One has 10s or 30s, no doubt Epic will have that and more) so you can sit all day with the camera "rolling" and when the lion finally jumps onto the gazelle you just hit record again and the actual clip starts up to 30s prior.

so hard for me to believe anyone would say that.

I am on this big "I no longer suffer fools" kick, and it seems like that phrase is a great way to know if someone is worth working with. As much as i disliked the "Professional" thread (man I am negative today!), I think if you don't have the simple common sense and education to know that difference, you aren't worth my time.

(of course, Mark, I don't mean you, I mean the people who say that)

Its the most annoying statement I hear constantly. Thank God I'm not the only one that feels this way. I've stopped arguing with folks, I smile secretly know they won't be my business competition.

12 s is a terrific improvement for wildlife shooting and it will make my life way easier... 12 s is still an eternity in that particular field, though. Keeping the camera rolling on prerec will require a load of batteries where and when you're seeking lightweight. Thus, the question is rather how long will the Epic require to get fully functional again when in sleep-mode, and how many batteries will be required to keep the camera in sleep-mode for a whole day, with occasional shots.
