Greetings,

So I would like to set up a batch with R3D DM to copy one drive in after another, like it does sequentially, but each time I try to mount more than one RED drive to the MacPro, they eject themselves rendering this impossible.

Since I don't want to risk the footage, I'm not going to continue to try this unless with just some test reels later on, but seems odd that I can't mount more than one on my system at a time, especially when both are powered with power supplies, one on FW bus, one on USB bus. Did a board search and was unsuccessful so I'm inquiring now.

:confused5:

OSX 10.6.3.

Whats the technical reason you cannot mount 2 drives on 1 mac pro?

No one from Red has given an official reason as far as I know, although we could speculate it maybe has something to do with all Red Drives appearing to be the same logical drive and confusing the computer.

Another Reduser did say that attaching one Red Drive to USB and another to FW would work, but not sure if anyone tried it. Not a great use anyway as USB is so slow.

I mentioned this in my initial post, but one was plugged in via USB, the other FW. This was after both in FW didn't work.

It was at wrap and I was going to let it run while I slept, to check through afterwards. BUmmer this doesn't work.
