Hi!

I would like to buy a Shoulder-Rig for my Red One.

Actionproducts? Allstar?

What do you use? What would you recommend?

Norbert

also look at the allstar system. very fast to switch modes and a good price.
and well made.

Norbert,

I can sell you as a bundle: ET Mantis, VF Origo Start/Stop button and EasyRig Cine 3 700.

An ideal rig for handheld RED ONE shooting.

If you are interested in that option please contact me here >>>

Have also a look at actionproducts! It´s a fantastic, reliable very light setup. No need to unmount it if you put the cam on a tripod. Works great with, and without the easyrig. Rock solid.
I love it.

The Mantis is very solid but adds a lot of weight too. If you have a sensitive back like me you may want to consider adding the Element Technica Lightweight support rods and a shoulder pad. The lightweight support allows video space rods for your accessories and you can lose the bulky and heavy 19 or 15mm studio bridge plate. This also lowers the lens axis much closer to eye level. Lastly I use the spyder grips for hand grips but there are many options out there.

Also I sometimes use the EZ-Rig If I'm operating from the shoulder for an extended period.

This was shot before I got the light weight support so imagine the set up even lower on the shoulder.

Thanks for all your inputs.

I finally got the Shoulder-Rig from Actionproducts.

Why?
1. It´s very light. They have upgraded the Rig.
2. Local support. As I am from Europe.

I also only use shoulder pads..I operate off the mattebox.

I spent the thousands on a mantis.. used it on a couple shoots, then decided it wasnt right for me..

I have much more control of the camera in my current handheld config

Lol this job is coming up in like 2 days. Maybe I will just get one of those gel bicycle seat cushions and strap it on.

Before I got my ET Mantis I used a bike gel pad and it wasn't half bad - beats the sh*t out of nothing and I preferred it to the Filmtools pad like Evin uses, YMMV.

Cheers - #19

I thought Evin was using the House of Power shoulder pad for that shoot. I remember buying mine based on his recommendation.

The shoulder pad is great, especially when you need to go straight from tripod to handheld in a hurry. I am keeping the Mantis, at least until I've tried out the Red Gunner.
