RCX can't generate (for now) a single dpx sequence (it can but it doesn't work for import into PP and AE). Clipfinder (I'm using a lab version gently provided by Hans) can generate a single dpx sequence that works in AE but I have to cut the sequence manually in AE. Is there a way to import an edl in AE or PP able to work with dpx files? With apple color you can import the edl and then the dpx generated by rcx and color conform the sequence properly.

I know but you can import an edl in PP and the go to AE but it doesn't work with dpx.

I use PP only to go to AE usually, although I think PP is getting better and better. They are the dpx rendered by rcx 340. PP recognize the edl/xml structure but not the dpx and it's not possible to reconnect them properly after. The only way that I found is with clipfinder but you have to do the conform manually. Anyway Deanan told me they are building a filename constructor in the new rcx.

I tried all the solutions but they doesn't work with dpx. I can't try the
After Effects EDL Import of Joofa because it doesn't work with cs5.

Can you tell me why the DPX sequence doesn't go from PPro -> AE more clearly? Let me see why it doesn't work.

Cheers

David, PP to AE works fine. I forgot to mention the project was edited with FCP. So now I'm trying to find a way to import the project into AE. I used to use different scripts or I use PP and then go to AE. Also I noticed PP can works with DPX files natively and that is great but the problem is if I import an edl or an xml into PP with DPX files, PP imports the structure of the project but the files are offline and I can't reconnect them..

Probably PP is not reading the header information of the DPX files and cant assign them right (filename+TC).... I tried this also with no luck.... if we would have a script which can convert the TC in the xml/edl to the right framecount in the xml file (ex. A001_C001_1234XY to A001_C001_1234XY.012345.dpx) that will be a chance possibly... ???
