If you could afford a year of working on set for free, you could get some good work experience. Unfortunately very few people are able to do that that - as most people have bills to pay.

Its something I wish I could have done but trial and error and reading was the only ball in my court. Hope you find some work, James.

Judging by your number its LA so I would hope something was going on in your area.

if you have tons of experience you should try to earn money with it.
why work for free?
if you have experience and still work for free, it can possibily get hard in the future to ask for money.

Pretty much the same here, though i can't really afford to work for free for too much longer, on account of film school being expensive.

But ya, I'm in the same boat, only in Toronto...

I am in the city of angels and I like beer.
After 20 years of working on set as a lighting technician I'm looking for a change. 18K's are NOT getting any lighter.(no pun intended)
I make enough working two to three days a week on commercials to allow me to "intern". All I need is the right person to take me under their wing.
I know you are out there.....................somewhere.
