I'm interested in the MAXX. (Already got a RRocket)

I see you are getting a Resolve too, I was wondering if the card still gets recognized by Resolve when connected via HBA. It would mean I can get rid of the RR in the MacPro and put my RAIDcard back. Using the RR when needed via the MAXX also gives me back the sleep mode of the MacPro.

Does that also allow you to use an esata card as well or is it just one slot? Do you then have to use the firewire ports for hard drive with the macbook pro.

It's one slot... you will have to use FW800 with a MacBook Pro.

Having eSATA wouldn't be advantageous. The PCI Express slot couldn't handle the RR card + an eSATA connection. The slot is laready not fast enough for the RR... luckily I can get 1/2 res playback in Premiere Pro... but not in REDCine-X.
