I'd probably buy that stuff at Abel Cine Tech

http://www.abelcine.com

They have stores in NY, Chicago and LA - so they can get you gear pretty quickly no matter what coast you're on.

Thanks Mitch, i checked with them in LA, no help, no one could even talk to me, its like they dont know my name so they didnt have the time to talk to me. Disappointing considering Mitch Gross is da man when it comes to showing us whats new and hott out in the market.
I checked with NY and they can order it for me which is an alternative.

Any other suggestions anyone? Id love to hear em.

Thank you Mitch i appreciate it.

AbelCine is really weird to work with at times. They have a habit of almost never returning emails requesting quotes. And general emails to your actual sales rep often take days. Always best to call them directly. If you have ever done any business with Abel, they will assign a sales rep to you and that assignment stays in their system. So if you call up and your sales rep is not available, about the best anyone will do is take down some info and have your rep call you back.

That said, once you do get ahold of your intended sales rep, you're usually taken care of. In my experience they have treated me quite well.

If you don't have an Abel sales rep already, call the LA office. Ask for James Sicignano. He's my sales rep and also takes care of Ketch and a handful of other members here. He's always treated me right.

Mitch Gross is awesome. There are so many times I wish I could just order from him. He knows the equipment, the part numbers, what works with what, etc..

I've found the NYC office a bit easier to deal with, but that only happens when what I need is only coming from there. Recently the NULL Lens / Target. Otherwise they have me talk to my rep at the LA office, due to my geographical location. I'm not sure it would really matter as I'm kinda in the middle, but that's the way they do it. I've never talked to anyone at their Chicago location (I thought it was just rentals?).

FilmTools is super easy to deal with and they stock a lot more than what's on their web site, usually. You will get better prices if you call them up. However, Abel consistently beats them by 5% on most Arri gear.

B&H would be a good source for that Sony monitor... Abel should be about the same.

Save yourself the headache, use filmtools.

I have had headaces twice the size with filmtools, have had some of the same with Abel but it's been really great to work with the L.A. Dept.
I will pm you the contact who helped me out.

Yeah I requested a quote from Abel on the new oconnor obox like a week ago, never got a response.

If anyone ever needs something from Abel you can always feel free to reach out to me directly. If you ever find that you are not getting the response you need from us please let me know so that we can address it. Shawn & Luis, please PM me and let me know who you were dealing with so that I can move things forward. Actually, I'll be investigating on our end to address this, but I want to get you assistance ASAP.

Our Chicago office is currently Sales only, no Rental or Services.

Okay Mitch,

I'll take you up on your offer then ;)

Can you please verify that they get back at me with the quote (as I'm ready to order) for the:

Denz DVF Kit, to include:
Denz Viewfinder
Right Handle Grip
Mini Support Plate
Pivoting mount
High-Quality Leather Carrying belt
Metal Transport Case

This wil be purchased together with the O'Connor CFF-1 and the 3 4x5 inserts trays for the MB28.

Thanks ;)

But I just emailed James again :)

Ketch, on it. ;-)

I talked to Luis yesterday and I know someone spoke with Shawn today.

Thanks Mitch,

James Sicignano just called me, and it turns out that I got the first PDF Quote cut in half,
and that He never got my following up emails, in fact didn't even got the one I sent half hour ago,
but finally got the issues figure out, and new we are on it!

It was a bit strange as since He is also part Italian, we kick it off right away, and it was on the ball with covering my needs.

So happy camper again, and looking forward to get the new Toys to take to Italy!

Glad we worked it all out.

Hi Mitch! Yes, two guys called me today :-). Thanks!

Mitch Gross definitely gets results and although I know what it's like with Abel not getting back to me about quotes and e-mail requests, overall I have absolutely no gripes and wouldn't even hesitate for an instant about buying from them.

Additionally, Filmtools is great too. I'm not crazy about how their website handles various searches and wish everyone's site was as good as B&H or Abel's... but their customer service and prices will always keep their name in my rolodecks.

Update, I believe the VP from NY or someone in charge took the time to look up my number and called me to correct my problem.
I appreciate that.
Then Mitch helped me solve my dilemma do i go with Sony or Panasonic. I went with the Pany due to Mitch's feelings towards that industry work horse.

Thank you Able NY.
I just purchased my Arri FF-4 from Able LA hours ago.

FYI anybody buying an ARRI FF-4 when you buy the kit
dont mistake the KIT for having both the 15mm and 19mm attachments.
You have to add that on.
Very unfortunate I learned that the hard way.

Thanks Luis
