  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Will the EPIC have the same power input and monitor output jacks?

I'm looking at upgrading my Steadicam for RED ONE usage and need to buy a power cable and another monitor cable for my 7".

Obviously, I want to wait on these purchases if they won't be compatible with the EPIC.

Thanks

EPIC will have adaptor cables to allow you to use RED ONE power accessories.

LCD / EVF monitor cables are the same as on RED ONE.

HD-SDI uses normal size BNC rather than the mini-BNC of RED ONE

Thank you, Stuart.
This is exactly what I needed to know.

Does this mean that investing in something like the switronix XC-4LSRED charger makes sence? To continue using my red bricks?

Will the red bricks be discontinued?

If so, can a charger like the switronix charge other v-mount batteries?

Will be very unlikely of that happening,
and if anything, not discontinued, but upgraded.

All V mount chargers are compatible with each other, or most f them,
so you will be okay, if instead of using the RED charger you want to use Swit's or Bebob's.

Yes, you can continue to use RED BRICK batteries with EPIC and Scarlet. But advantages of the new REDVOLT batteries are they are designed to be Side Handle and Rear Module compatible, and the larger XL version can be carried on to aircraft as hand luggage without restriction as it's less than 100Wh.

So lots of choices....

Monitoring

No need for a module, the EPIC brain has one (full size) HDMI output plus one (full size) HD-SDI output.
