  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Proxies look yellow and dark. Is there any quick, easy fix?

Hi all. . .

I've heard that our yellowish, dark proxy files coming off our RED-MX are the result of mismatch between RED's Build 30.6 color science and Apple's Quicktime files.

I'm curious if there is a super quick fix for this issue that doesn't involve transcoding or such, as our editorial workflow is to edit the proxies in FCP and then finish using Scratch. I'd just like to be able to see something decent on my MacBook Pro before getting things back from our editor.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Stephen

Download the latest version of the Final Cut Pro installer from red.com/support . It includes the latest quicktime codec for the proxies which supports the MX footage.

Hi there, Sam. . .

It was my understanding that the latest FCP plug did not support the latest color science. Is that incorrect?

Thanks.

Stephen

The current version supports Build 30 footage which to my understanding is when the New Color Science came in.

Stephen,

As a quick fix you can set some looks in RCX and then create new QT wrappers with RCX based on the new looks you set.

The Qt's and the Proxy files should be able to read the tweaks you make after you install all of the correct software.
