Mac with 48GB RAM, 8 cores, 48TB storage

Just for kicks, I built an 8 core 3GHz (it's the kind of wannabe macpro) with 48GB RAM and 48Terabytes of storage. With the AJA test, I get about 1,500MB/s read and 1,100MB/s write.

Is it true that the QT player wont play 4K proxies at 24fps no matter what? Does anyone know the trick to playing back 4K at 24fps? Even in the REDCINE-X I have trouble playing back because when I hit play, it will hang even after buffering.

I know it works well with the redrocket, but I'm just messing around.

Quadro FX 1700. Not sure if that might be the issue. I thought it was a somewhat descent GPU.

There are no Mac drivers for the Quadro FX 5800.

Do you mean this is a Hackintosh you built,
if so what did you use part wise and how much.
