Purple lines are, like upside down mountains, are viewable in the EVF, the MONITOR, and SDI OUT, AND THE RAW.

They are on the northwest part of the recorded image.

Just upgraded to 30.6.0 and at this moment the DIT is Reinstalling 30.5.0 and doing a blackshading at 320 ISO.

Please let me know if you think of anything else we can do or if this is a hardware issue.

Is it a light leak in the black shading?

Thanks

Yeah it is in the outside recording areas but the lines are getting longer and bleeding down the top of frame.

Looks like a bad black shading to me, try doing a restore on the black shading first, then do a new one.

Yes, evolving.

We have done multiple black shadings with the same thing reoccurring. In this case would a restore help?

Ill try anyway.

Thanks

Did a reset and re-shade work? Hopefully so. It's hard to see what's going on from the small image you posted.

If for some reason it's not fixed, do post a larger image so we can see better what it is. And be sure to file a trouble ticket, etc.. with RED. Anyway, I hope it's working now.

Not FIXED actually; Restored the blackshading; but now wont reblackshade colors proper; everything is greentinted; and we have all run out of options; just waiting for RED to respond.

Cap the lens

Cap the lens

Try to cap the lens and then you can look at the black level to see if the dark field subtraction is at least even.

How hot is the camera?

Did you point the camera at the sun with the lens wide open?

Did direct sunlight get into the camera on a lens change?

Did you turn off the camera and let it cool down to under 25C for 15minutes or more? The re-calibrate the black level...

Looking more at the small image posted, hard to tell for sure, but it looks like a the sensor may actually be damaged. I'm wondering about the sun or other potential sources of damage, as Dan is asking about.

Has the the camera gone through any rapid temperature changes or other environmental changes, such as rapid shift in air pressure or altitude?

The only other times I've seen purple or colored splotches on a sensor, especially at the edges, was after significant damage. This was not on a RED One, but on a Panasonic -- sensor had some condensation on it that subsequently froze and damaged the sensor around the edges -- looked very similar to what I'm seeing in the image posted here. I have also seen the same effect on LCD screens if they freeze to a point where the liquid crystal mixture inside actually solidifies and ruptures individual pixel cells. Once again, hard to tell from the small picture, but it could be sunburn if the sun was in that top portion of the frame for too long with no protection. Usually sunburn will actually scorch the sensor -- same with laser burns. Have you taken the lens off and actually looked at the sensor to see if there's any visible damage?

Hopefully RED gets back to you soon. But this does not look like a simple software / firmware fix to me.
