  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

TIFFs modified in Camera Raw do not work in AFX CS5.

I've modified TIFF sequences in Adobe Camera Raw (via Bridge CS5). Upon importing them into After Effects CS5, the camera raw settings do not apply.

This use to work in After Effects CS4 if you selected "Camera Raw" as the file type before importing. Now TIFF files modified by ACR do not have their settings show up in AFX CS5.

I've written a bug report to the adobe suggestion/bug reporter page. Is there a work around for this issue?

From the AE master:

you can tell if you've done it "right" by looking at the imported
item in PW -- it will be called "TIFF Sequence" if going through
ordinary TIFF parser, or "Camera Raw sequence" if going through CRAW

hm, working for me, both platforms. based on the AFX comment i will
assume this is on windows.

usually when i see the complaint like this it's becase someone is
being tripped up by the admittedly confusing "import as" interface in
our windows import dialog. ("file type" performs dialog filtering,
while "format" means the "force use this parser")

steps:
pick "files of type:" -> "All Files"
click on first TIFF in sequence
pick "format:" -> "Camera Raw"

--dmw

Thank you this fixed it up very nicely. Will we be able to import TIFF/JPEG sequences that have been touched by ACR into Premiere Pro instead of having to route through After Effects?

Honestly we just want an Adobe Camera Raw plugin for After Effects/Premiere Pro so that we don't have to jump through image sequence hoops to have ACR adjustments on video :)
