Why would I use it if its not great?
Why do you upload anything that you dont think is great?
Strange work ethic...

I would have say "not so bad" instead of "not great". And I understand the "totally free" argument : it is so difficult to earn money with music that earning some free users is already more than to stay in the dark.

What you have missed is the ergonomic of your web site. Your music is .zip, and it is impossible to listen to it "on line". You should have work a little bit more on that before sending the link.

More to the point...why are people sniffing at a free service with unlimited licensing and usage? Use it or don't, but what is the pay-off to you for criticizing an open-handed gesture? Seriously...

Whether a piece of music is "great" or not depends largely on the context in which it is used, in the edit, and for the purposes of your delivery.

I used one of Peter's works in a brief development piece, to accompany a few location scouting photos for a feature film which is under development. The delivery context is our Facebook page, local web page, and it links to our investor packet. It won't be used in the final film, because we have a soundtrack, but having access to free music for these sorts of applications along the development path is truly a gift.

So far, I've received several compliments on the musical selection.

Here's a direct link to a short location scouting slideshow, where I'm using Peter's stuff:

And feel free to go hit the "like" button on our Facebook page - we try to keep it lively, so bring your friends along:

and, I guess, while I'm at it, the actual movie development web page:

So, having said all of that...I guess I'll be the one to say it...

Oh my gosh...how awesome! More free stuff! I really appreciate what you're doing to help support indie productions.

THANKS, PETER!

Very cool, Peter. A good friend of mine, Adam Kontras, mentioned your name to me last year when he was in Columbus screening his biographical documentary and said you helped him out big time.

Small world.

Also, you guys may want to refresh yourselves on Reduser Marketplace policy here - http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=32457

"There has been an unusually large amount of "thread crapping" lately. That is where you enter other peoples' for-sale threads and complain about pricing or other aspects of an item up for sale. There has been a recent thread discussing the matter. People are going to start getting temporary bannings if they can't contain themselves."

Thank you, sonnyboo, for providing this. Meryem and Andrew's recommendations make me want to check this out.

I am checking some of this out - I will probably use some of this on my next pet project...

Bookmarked - Thanks Peter!

Ergonomics is a physical term, and so not relevant, but never mind.
I think I understand that when you write "your", You really mean "our"?
I went on your site to take an interest, but was unable to play it in my browser, just as you stated in your reply.
I understand the way your site works perfectly.
I just did not feel that it was worth it to download 3 or 4 examples of your music, when you described it as "not great".
That it is free had no impact, quite the the opposite, in fact I respect when people are trying to break through any way they can, and offering free samples of your music is a way to do that.
I think YOU should make the effort to make your work playable on the website.
I can imagine any of the many directors and musical stylists, I know and work with ,would ever take the time to download something they cant play a little example of in their browser.
If you want to spread you work, you should make it MUCH easier for people to listen to. Just sound advice;-)
