  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Clipfinder not creating proxies of build 30.5

Clipfinder does not work well with the later REDLINE versions after build 30.

Some issues can be related to not being able to replace the older proxies.

I have an older color science boot drive and switch the system, then create proxies using the Clipfinder.

So your saying that I can create proxies for build 30.5 material with a system that supports (has redline of the propper version installed) only the older color science(ill have to look back to see what version this changed.. what version are you using?) and that the proxies will be correct when I play them back from a machine with the newer FLUT color science quicktime codec?

Joe,

The proxies is burned at that time with the certain version of color science, so unfortunately, it will not look the same as FLUT if you use non-FLUT. So there have been a problem but now everyone pretty much are using REDCINE-X, so the proxies won't matter.

We were hoping that Hans can update the Clipfinder to support the latest color science, but it's been a while last we heard about the development. What exactly are you trying to do?

I see, I hope Hans can provide update one day. But in November, you'll be able to get your hands on The Foundry STORM that has complete support on the metadata, realtime engine with GPU and Red Rocket, advance tagging and listing, searching. It will be on public beta for a couple of months and it will be released with a price tag of $395. So, most likely, you won't need Clipfinder after that.

So you should just explore with REDCINE-X for now.

I have created proxies with RCX and worked on with clipfinder.

It's such a fast and clean UI for batch work and firstlights + all the conform tricks that I cannot really see it leaving the toolset if Hans upgrades it to allow for the new color- and gamma-settings.
