  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

TED video was AMAZING and insightful.

Amazing

Only requires $350, a hard working Indian grad student and a complete lack of fashion sense. Still, the technology demo'd here is pretty impressive.

It's just a machine. It only provides you information
It MAKES you think, not TELL you what to think.

And television isn't? Movies really aren't culturally relevant enough at this point in time to seriously influence decision making, but they definitely had a very good run as well.

EDIT: Which is not to say that I'm not concerned about media control over decision making. I just think we're screwed already and probably have been for decades.

Of course it is- I know - I was raised behind the Iron Curtain. But currently you can't take it with you and have it wash your brain wherever you go(except for the cool/dumb part of our society that PAYS to have their brains washed...errrr... watch mobile TV on their cell phones...):coolgleamA:

I'm pretty sure this tech won't take off, at least in its current form, because most people really won't want to have an extra device, no matter how small and stylish, clipped to the front of their outfit to interact digitally with the world in this way. Maybe if it's small and unobtrusive like a jewelry-style pendant. Or a lapel pin. Or a pocket protector. MAYBE. But still probably not.

And with a camera plus a projector and a wireless receiver/transmitter of some sort, I still don't think people could get it small enough to make it work.

It's got fantastic practical applications for certain industries, but not sure we'll see popular adoption of this particular iteration.
