BTW... EPIC support is ready. Just waiting for cameras to get through final testing and updates.

So when will the Tattoooist able to comment on their tattoo experience?

Just re-read the oct 30th announcements yesterday, and the images of epic were dubbed "tattoo Epic" sorta a year ago -:)

We are always late... but worth the wait. :-)

JIm, does S3D support with RR require dual card config.?

For realtime playback it does but not for rendering.
You can playback to 3D monitors that support SbS or interleaved but putting the viewer on the monitor in full screen.

The new firmware (coming soon) that goes with this build will name clips:
A001_L001_0101XX
A001_R001_0101XX
and RCX will automatically make a 3D clip and align to timecodes if the R3Ds or RDCs are in the same directory. It'll also flip/flop as to what the camera is set to.

Coming soon will be post convergence (HIT/Global offset).

Thank you so much. To everyone who worked hard on this, amazing work!

Deanan, ma' man! That's a great news. We are asked to install S3D native R3D light-edit/playback system and now does not cost a thing to do this. My client will be happy. Now, to provide synchronized playback on dual Sony 4K projector, do we need to externally genlocked?

This will be another advantage over other camera for S3D with RED. Simply fabulous.

Show in folder/delete/select all in the timeline with right-click is too awesome.

Having lots of extra pixels and resolution for post convergence/HIT and reframing is also turning out to be a big advantage.

BTW, to make a 3d clip from older firmware L/R pairs, just put the two clips in the bin, select both, and right click select "Make 3D Clip". Then drage the 3d clip to viewer.

You'll then see a 3d menu in the viewer as well as in the clip settings stack.

Actually, that wasn't a complaint.
I think it is good/necessesary that the features you release work out of the box, and having done a bit of cam peeking lately, I'd just say:
Do it right and it's gonna be fun all the way.

Fun things now is that you can sorta look into the future by using different systems, but it becomes strikingly apparent that you see different elements of ehat the futute may hold.

Sound on you that Epic is that future.

That said: Need any beta-testers? -:) (I know you don't...)

Excellent. So in the new firmware will there be a "3D" option in the SLATE menu?

The HIT and other post tools are important especially for parallel S3D shoots where the footage needs HIT (Horizontal Image Translation AKA post convergence) to be viewable comfortably in 3D.

Is there a difference view option?

There's a place to set L/R/C.

No Difference view yet but that's on the todo list.

Deanan, any idea why the win64 version does not run? See my previous post of the error message.
