I realise we're a small subset of the global Red presence, but I was surprised when told the '100 or so' number of official Red Europe supplied cams in conversation with Alan P today

Is there a very big tranche of direct-imported users? I wonder if anyone at Red can say for certain?

I feel like my camera may be more of a rarity here than I think it is.

Yevgeny at Mitcorp/Creative Video [resellers of various Red One addons/accessories] reckoned last autumn that there were around 50 in London.
You can add one here in New Cross to the list!

I think there is a surprisingly large number of self imported RED cameras in the UK. There are at least ten REDs in Bristol that I know of in this category - I can only guess that Manchester and Cardiff have similar numbers - the figure could exceed RED Europes 100+ imports

i got 2

then count , decode, filmscape, ice, movietech, take 2, pro vision, panavision, 4K london, sonic, and the dozens of owner operators in london alone.

MX must be a lot less here.....

Even if twice as many have been self-imported as have come through Red Europe, I'm still a little surprised. Like William says, that must mean a very small number of MX cams here.

Hi,

I did not know you could buy a RED that was not a self import, if you can now buy from Red in the UK thats a very recent change.

East Mids here, only know of about 5 or North of us.

Which is begging the question to MX or not!

Yeah, recently as of about a year and a half ago!

Crikey, the guys at pro-vision only know of about six. Interesting that if you search for them hardly any come up! Do these guys have a web presence? When I search along these lines our company comes up (as we're on adwords etc) and the well known midlands > southern guys.

Also can you point me in the direction of any North based MX ones in that case? Would be handy.

Thanks.

the amount of enquiries I have received as soon as people found out I am shooting a feature film here is unbelievable.
Anyway I have two complete MX camera packages, (look at my website) that I am shipping over to the UK

.

Does the warranty on RED equipment sold in the UK, comply with EU requirements & the UK sales of goods Act apply?

I think I saw at least twenty at the broadcast show this year!

I'm aware that there are quite a number of direct-imported cameras in the UK.
