Anton Corbijn's and George Clooney's "The American" pulled ahead of "Machete" as the No. 1 movie in America, according to Sunday box office estimates.

It's a very fine movie. Beautifully composed and lit. And the performances, especially Clooney's, are excellent in an understated way.

Really a great example of how a Photographer (like me, he he) can have a huge advantage stepping in to the role of a Cinema Director.

Love the story, the fact that is shot back at Home, well icing on the cake, he he.

Look forward in seeng this great Film, I think George here really does ply a role that brings him a part form other roles and I like the way He plays it.

Saw it Friday afternoon.
Beautifully shot. Very simply composed for the most part. Really as much of a closeup character study as an action thriller.
Liked it a lot. I'm tending to prefer movies these days that do have in depth character development as a significant part of the story. Clooney has the ability to communicate depth of character in subtle and profound ways. This one reminded me a bit of Michael Clayton.

I liked the movie but it was a little slow in some parts. It did have a very good look to it. Was kind of cool watching him make a suppressor. There was a little bit of BS in that movie. When the woman asks for a silencer Clooney should have backhanded her and said, "What kind of assassin calls a suppressor a silencer. You fail".
