  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

iPHONE APP - RED SHORT FILM - HOT CHICKS KICKIN' ASS

Nice work and brilliant distribution idea! Congratulations. Sorry for the below but you've got me buzzing now - and I know i'm just about to repeat what you already are doing Alex but...

:jacked:
We all complain (with good reason) about Apple deserting pro users to build i products but here could be the payoff. Finally a way to make some money back from your short films. Yeah, I understand you're going to have to sell a lot of 'em at 99c per but you need to sell a lot of movie tickets and DVDs to make a profit on a $300m blockbuster. Consider the number of people who access the iTunes Store. Making glossy little numbers like this for folk to watch on the train in the mornings is amazing.

When I first got hold of an iPad I said, "Cool device. It'll be great when we work out what we can use it for". I believe Alex and his buddies have come up with something.

Sorry for the hijack. Resume normal programming.

All good. Goto this thread if you want to speak more about the distro: http://reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=48616 :001_tt1:

nice work, working on two different platforms for the iPhone and iPad on a Future Film, well done!

I will be including also the new iAd in the project so to sale the Ap with the film for as cheap as possible, same thing with my E-Book for "Chronicles of Perseverance"!

We are loooking into that. My developer and I are working out the code as we speak. More to come...

Finally checked it out. Nice work. I'm definitely interested in what sort of sales response this actually generates, if you're willing to share that info at some point.

As of iAd... It's somewhat of a mixed bag. People seem to like the concept overall, ads don't interfere with app operation when properly implemented. I have one iAd-enabled app out for a client, since 2 weeks ago, that seems to be getting positive response. It's too early to tell just yet, but a lot of indicators are showing the number of people to actually follow-through on viewing iAds to be rather low. Which makes sense. On a mobile device, often with relatively slow connections (3G ain't that fast), people aren't that inclined to waste their few available gaming or tinkering moments on viewing ads. I appreciate Apple for creating iAd to make a uniform interface for Ads and keeping people from screwing up their apps just to incorporate crappy ads. But I'm still not convinced that iAds will be a solid source of funding for app developers. Initial response seems to be good, but there's also a lot of people tapping the iAd just to check out what's different / special about them.

I've got a couple ideas for cool ways to incorporate iAds, but it really should be specific to each app. As an example, a friend of mine who is also an iOS developer, is writing an iPad game for someone right now. I can't divulge really any details about it, I don't know that many anyway, but I do know that it involves driving around / navigating a virtual city. iAds populate billboards and signage of the city within the game.

Checked out the trailer. I really like the yellow-orange, almost sodium-vapor look. I'd love to hear more about how you lit that...

Thanks, doing well with the app. People are really liking it. :emote_head_explode::emote_head_explode:
