I'm experiencing some gamma difference on my two machines in Color.
On my second machine, the waveform shows about 20IRE lower brightness, and my render comes out darker on that machine.

I checked the versions on Color, plug-in's, etc. The two machines share the exact same hardware that can affect the graphic images. I've been succesfully using two machines to ease the render madness over one year.

I'm thinking about re-installing everything from scratch on the second machine, but it would be nice if I can hear any suggestions from you guys.

Thanks

Do you have any FX node tree setup? I've had problems on a Mac Pro when in the FX tree, the Add node sometimes just stops working for no reason.

Sometimes if you reboot it starts working again. Otherwise, I just fiddle around. Load different projects. Delete the Color Add mode and use Graeme Nattress' free one instead, etc.

It is very scary for a color correction program to have these problems.

Even worse, when I load the same projects on a new 2009 i7 iMac I get... stretched horizontal lines.

Can't wait for DaVinci Resolve!

Have you looked at the Color UI? Nothing should surprise you after that.

Apple has never understood professional-grade applications, and they've continued to acquire products that fit its detachment from the real world.

Nuke,

Are they installed with different graphic cards? That will differ the rendering output.

Thanks for your responses :)

Bruce: I will check on the FX node to see if there's any mess-up's.

Kaku: I have the HD4870 on the two machines, and I haven't experienced this problem for over one year. Very strange. It almost killed one of the projects I gave my assistant to render out on the second machine. Very very scary indeed.

I think I will try to delete the preferences as well. I've checked to see if there's any custom LUT's loaded, but no.

Since you wrote in my thread.. I have been grading on Color for over two years by now, and I have graded more than a couple hundred projects. There has been some up's and down's with the app, but it's not something that will turn me around for another machine. In fact, I very much like the UI. I don't know what's wrong with it.

Some people just bitch about things don't work, not pretty, blah blah.. while others successfully do great works with it.

Just FYI, my thread title wasn't "let's bitch at Apple for my problem", just sayin'

I have experience the FX node problem, too, but Nuke's problem is for all of the cuts even without any nodes in the FX?
