Hello Everyone,
I am new to editing RED footage. I am wondering if anyone can give me a a general or quick reference on how to edit footage shot at 4K 2:1 and 4K HD using Final Cut pro?

I am just wondering what are the best ways of editing the footage and getting the best quality? How do you compress and decompress the files and with what program?

Any suggestions or tips would be awesome!

O the project currently is for a promo video I am working on for a great band about to go on tour.

The basics are covered very well in Noah Kudner's book:

RED: The Ultimate Guide to Using the Revolutionary Camera

I would strongly suggest that you edit QT proxies and then conform the 4K files later on, as detailed in Noah's book. Even better, get the advice of a good post house that deals with Red footage so they can help you with deliverables later on, assuming you want to ultimately get on a network or cable channel, or distribute to home video.
