  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Market Value of Used, Executed, Out-of-Warranty, Non-MX RED ONE?

I disagree. Crash is what happened to S16 kit, SR3 kits are now selling for a fraction of what they where selling for a few years ago, that's what i call crash. RED's won't crash, because they are still a viable money making tool. I will certainly hang onto at least one of my RED's when i get my Epic. Red One is still a fantastic camera, they will still be producing great images. Still in demand and therefore still retain their value.

But at some time RED will start selling Mxd versions. Than what? You still perceive you get a premium? or at least original price, no way.

* Thanks for the clarification (re: stage3) -

I will say in my market, the non MXR1 is still pretty high on the food chain, so I would feel quite good about the price I could fetch, but I have no intention of releasing my cam until the Epic arrives. I would wager most stage 3'ers are in my camp. As stated before, the flux in price was caused by the stage 2 logic bomb, but thats over.

The crash will likely occur when Scarlet S35 arrives. $7k for what is, in essence, an R1-MX (without the 2k 200fps but with other extras) in a small format.

R1 owners might cash in now/soon at a mid range price before this release.

I know a few that have sold around the $10k mark, usually with the provision that the original owners has full access until the Epic arrives.

I don't see why anyone would pay full new value for a used, out of warranty camera. I certainly wouldn't!:willy_nilly:

If it came with all accessories or a lens, sure, but body only?
