Hi,

We just did a fun test here with some anamorphic lomos and my red mx. The red was in 4.5k mode 25fps and the lomos had 2:1 squeeze so the resulting image was theoretically 8960x1920 :)

Very nice format for multidisplay shoot, panorama etc.

The 35mm lomo had some wigneting, but the 75, and the 100mm was illuminating the sensor all the way out to sensor edge. (no pic)

haha holy sh*t! Wonder what panning looks like. And the flares. And please hang this 'super-anamorphic' stabilized under a helicopter :D. Pretty stoked!

You can get even wider without vignetting if you resize 2x your 4.5K and than crop as you like to be wide or panoramic view just using ordinary still glass like a brand new Sigma 8-16mm or a bit older Tokina 11-16mm.

No desperately needs of anamorphic except in the case when you want to "Shalow cut" DoF to get a famous anamorphic portrait effect.

Also using super fast still lenses like a Noctilux 0.95 or Nokton 1.1 you can at wide open get al those anamorphic shallow dof portrait effects...

To give you an idea what I was talking about there are three examples that cropped @ 1920x800 (2.39:1 aspect ratio) from the original images

shot handheld with Sigma 8-16mm f/4.5-5.6 @ 8mm on 7D (also today can be shot with R1-MX or tomorrow on Epic or Scarlet S35).
