Sanjin, you want the guy walking with one of these in the subway?!
You'll get him arrested for terrorism. I can almost confuse this for an AT-4.

It seems that is a snap-on PL, meaning one that mounts like any Canon lens would.
Try comparing the rears of the Ultras to some of those zooms listed. Looks promising.
If you tape everything but the scales on the UPs it will help tone them down.

Believe me you aren't going to get that eBay adapter to work with ultraprimes.
Mr uhry's lomos work because they were designed originally with a longer flange - like Panavision.
Ultraprimes need not only the mirror to be removed but the body to be hollowed. It's a SERIOUS operation.
Ask pawel achtel. He's the original pioneer. HotRod Cameras does it right and so does fgv for like twice the price.
This is totally a rental situation, as committing to one of these is a waste of money.
Only PL mount that works properly with Ultraprimes:
You can rented 7D with FGV PL7D mount custom installed at Band Pro or Otto Nemenz in LA.
But, the 7D does have more DR I think, even if not a whole lot more, and it does have less jello effect which might be the deciding factor depending on the material (you said something about a fight right?).
I was thinking about jello (I thought the scaling/downsampling was better with the hacked firmware, but haven't come around testing it yet) Really HATED working with 5D...

DSLR Producer
Sums it up nicely... hehehehe
Admittedly though, I am considering using a DSLR to shoot covertly on an upcoming short... Need to shoot on/in a subway and don't want to go the correct and safe routes of permitting...
Anyone know someone with a 5D/7D with PL mount for rent (LA area)?
Anson - I hate the EX series and it's not small enough. It looks like a video camera. No one is going to stop me with "a regular still camera". (I also hate recording sound to the camera... Mixer will record separately and we will sync in post. Using lavs, no boom...)
To all worried about "slapping a cine lens on" - Ultra Primes are pretty compact. I am totally against using still lenses for motion work anyhow.
I won't be using an AC. Guerilla is bigger than what I'm trying to accomplish. Stealth and covert are more like it...
Shawn - I'm sure you have seen more ridiculous things than a DSLR with a PL mount... At least I hope your life is full of things that would constitute as more ridiculous... (Like putting still lenses on the R1?)
Ryan - RED slam... it is a reality to some people. I can't worry about peoples' opinions about the camera... It was still funny though.
I am also playing with my R1 configurations, body positions while sitting and camo for camera... Thinking of LapPod in a backpack...
Here is a better example of the hacked GH1 skew: http://vimeo.com/12580973
I'd say it is almost close enough to ignore it as a factor.
Yup, looks good, but for one thing I'd like to see...
A"bump" where the camera is moved quickly up/down/up with deep focus, like when you hit a bump in the road....
