This is the latest version of "The Lonely Moan," with recent footage taken at the Grand Canyon and a new music score by Steve Roach.

The "Lonely Moan" is a compilation of landscape footage for a documentary film about the John Glanton led band of scalp hunters who terrorized the Old Mexico Border in 1849-1850. Based on 'My Confession' by Samuel Chamberlain and inspired by the world of 'Blood Meridian' by Cormac McCarthy.

The "Lonely Moan" is being filmed in 4K resolution with the RED ONE Digital Cinematography Camera and will pick up with the RED EPIC when released.

Beautiful footage. Excellent ambient music by Roach. Steve Roach rules! Big fan of his work :-)

Cheers,

This looks terrific and the subject matter is very interesting. I am a big fan of McCarthy's work. Looking forward to seeing the full length feature. When do you anticipate completion?

The shots are nicely composed and the scenery is stunning.

But personally I hate the "tobacco filter" look.

Also, it might just be my monitor, but some of the scenes looked a bit dark.

We all have our preferences, and I am not going to speak for the author of this footage, but given the subject matter of their film, I have a feeling the moody quality of the footage is motivated by the rather dark subject matter.

Joe, it's excellent!

I downloaded 720p version from Vimeo and watched at the full screen of Macbook Pro 17" here in Ibiza.

Old Cooke Panchro lenses made perfect feeling of the landscape and also of the period time of upcoming feature.

Excellent feedback and I truly appreciate it. For the most part, most of the shots were composed, sometimes filtered, strictly for this film. And I understand where Antony is coming from, but for the most part, much of what is seen so far for The Lonely Moan has a natural look. Much of the Tobacco Antony refers to was achieved in post with a little help from an odd Antique Suede, but will serve the purpose of the film.

Thanks all.
