  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Starcraft 2

Anyone else an oldschool SC:BW gamer? :)

Anyone getting the game??

Hells yeah!

Mine should be delivered tomorrow. I don't know when I'm going to have time to play, though. :(

ordered on amazon yesterday, played the beta too, it's very similar to the first one. I'm a big fan of the story so I can't wait to see how the campaign unfolds. Probably have to save battle net for the weekends when I have no work. Or just stop sleeping... i'm leaning towards the latter.

I got to play the beta a couple times and it is AMAZING.

I think Starcraft could make a great movie if it was well done, since the plot is so intricate. Much better than making movies out of plotless shooters like Doom.

Eventually, but I need a new computer first.

I don't think my 1ghz Powerbook G4 is going to run the game.

Im getting it for sure. I remember playing Starcraft around 1998 at my friends workplace, only way to have 3 computers connected at that time, it was amazing! We played for hours and hours. Sometime until the first people started appearing to work. My friend would stay and do his work and we'd go home to sleep :)

Zerg forever!

will buy tomorrow.

Yup, just got Starcraft II on Tuesday! I was a big Starcraft gamer when it first came out, I was in high school, and played on the ladder in seasons 1 and 2. I was part of The-Feared clan, which dominated the ladder in season 1, we had 3 of the top 10 best players and all of our members were ranked, basically. We were good second season as well, but not as good, mainly we had Kain-The-Feared, who was consistently #2 on the ladder. He was a friend of mine (that's actually how I got in, he was a legend at the time, and I had known him when he first started playing as Retrovirus, before he was good, haha). I wonder what ever happened to all of those guys.

Anyway, I quit because summer ended and it was a new school year and I really didn't have the time to keep gaming. I don't have much time for it now either, but I got the game because I really don't have any computer games for my Macs at all, so it's good to have one killer game for when I want to play. I just got this laptop and it can handle it just fine ;) Top-of-the-line 17" MacBook Pro, good test for it, this bad boy has 8 gigs of DDR3 RAM, a 512 gig solid state drive, and the 2.66 Ghz core i7 Processor. I love this machine. My 8-core desktop is at the office for editing the feature, so... this was necessary. Or that's what I like to pretend :)

So far, Starcraft II is really fun, a lot of stuff to learn again, because of the units changing and a lot of awesome additions. Already something that comes to mind that rocks is that Terran supply depots can lower into the ground. I just like that because I used to use supply depots to wall myself in on some maps, great against an early rush, with bunkers behind the depots. I like it that now you can lower the depots to make that strategy work even better in some ways.

haha, yes

haha, yes

Well, I would never use Winblows again, so nothing would convince me to go back to that crap. Don't get me wrong, I like some of what Microsoft has to offer, like Gears of War 2 ;) But as for their OS, no, sorry. I don't have 100 hours per year or more to screw with trying to make a computer function properly. It's just not fun!

I really love how fast everything boots with this computer. As for the, as people here say, "disappointing" update to the Mac Pro, I understand all of the hoopla about that but I think it's a bit misplaced as that stuff will hopefully be taken care of on the next major upgrade; this was an incremental upgrade only. I am annoyed at no Blu-ray players on these things, though, I don't care what Steve Jobs says if he thinks there is no reason to put Blu-ray on he's an idiot. And since I know he's not an idiot, I have only one other thing to believe -- he's being greedy and just wants people to buy movies on iTunes, which by the way look like crap. HD movies cannot be a few gigs, sorry, that is not HD. It's a nice try, but HD movies taken up a heck of a lot more than 2-3 gigs or whatever. It shows. Badly. I get House on HD to watch the episodes and the quality is just ok, I can't imagine what it'd look like not in HD.

Unless you watch that HD movie on the iPhone, hahaha :) I jest of course.

The best thing about Starcraft though is you DON'T need winbloze to run it, I am so glad Blizzard makes mac versions of their software!

And I bought an Xbox360 for gaming mostly, as it just works (most of the time) :)

Is there a separate version for Mac or is the game for Mac and PC in the same package?
