Hi All,
we are running Scratch Cine on a Boxx workstation with nvidia quadro 3800 and RR.
Is it ok to use a 42" Panasonic Series 11 Plasma (with HD-SDI input card) for color grading? directly linked to the RR card?
Will the Plasma TV recognize our color space?

The project is a series of shorts shot in 4k 2:1 (red space). Destination: Film transfer for projection in festivals.

Thanks for any tip or point of view.
We are trying to achieve the best results with a very limited budget for monitors. Any alternative or suggestion is very appreciated since we still have to decide on the monitor.

(we use HP Dreamcolor for RGB monitoring directly from the nvidia card, and it works great)

:sifone:

SCRATCH does not output throuh the RR card ... it does not use the RR output connectors in any way. SCRATCH only outputs through the output connectors on the NVidia card.

HP DreamColor from the NVidia card is a good start. Must calibrate the DreamColor though. Cannot rely on factory defaults. Best results when using Display Port.

If you have the SDI option for the NVidia you can use that to connect a Plasma
as your grading monitor. You c
an even go dual link 4:4:4.

Keep in mind that Plasmas have a much brighter white level than a regular REC.709
monitor.

Why do they sell a RocketFuel bundle with RR card?

Hi Lucas,
we just gout our system in. We hoped we could use the appealing hd-dvi outputs of the RR with Assimilate, since the nVidia SDI output card is driving us crazy. We are having compatibility problems.

Tomorrow Randy will come here to take a look at the nvidia outputs... so hopefully problems will be solved.

Besides, your software is making our life much easier.
Thanks

Ok, problem solved...
just so you guys know.
The nvidia quadro 3800 card does not output when SDI card is linked unless an SDI monitor is connected.
