When 256 was released, and installed, I found that it would freeze on opening, with the beachball spinning for ever.
The same when opening 252.
246 would open and be fine, though.
Sent a log through to Red, but haven't heard back...

Today I cleared the bins in Redcine-X 246, and collapsed the browser window.
Closed Redcine.
Now it crashes and shuts down while trying to open, as does build 252 and 256.
Only Build 221 opens now...

on a Macbook Pro

Any ideas anyone???

Did you downgrade/upgrade redline when switching between versions?

not every time. But I just tried installing Redline 256, and reinstalling Redcine 256... still not working. Still crashing and closing while trying to open.

Redcine-X has always been more unstable on this computer than my other, older Macbook Pro.

The one I'm having problems on:

Thanks to Matt at Red for responding...
Problem solved.
I had two pref files there at /users/username/Library/Preferences/com.red.RedCineX.plist-

RedCineX.plist
and
REDCINEX.plist

Had to drag both to the trash.

Thanks again.
