Hi,

We have a red shoot coming up where the director will not be able to be on set, so we are going to need to send a feed thru the net for the director to view, I'm wondering if anyone here has done this before, and if so if you have any pointers or info on what you used etc.

Any help appreciated.

Did this once using iChat and a canopus ADVC analogue to DV converter. Not very high tech, but it worked to get reasonable quality SD video over the net without letting the moths out of my wallet. ;)

Thanks alot guys for the responses, as of now we are going with the point webcam at screen and using ustream for the stream.

Still looking into something more solid as well.

That will work. It just depends what you need. Does the director want a high quality feed or just a feed that he can see the shot on and how long is the shoot (just need it for a day or for a month?). Also, are you trying to find a low cost solution or do you have enough of a budget to buy some equipment.

Hi Brian, We are looking to buy, we are trying to keep the cost around 3k, and looking to buy.

What we are doing so far, which is working, we ended up buying a sling box pro HD, and a 4g modem, everything works quite well, there is a 5 second delay, which is a bummer, but it's workable so far. We'll probably stick with this unless there is something that is alot better.

What did you have in mind brian if you don't mind?

Thanks
Troy
