I'm posting this in case there's people having the same problem, i sent RED support the same email
We are having a serious problem with some R3D clips that was shot with our camera, there's a BLACK LINE on the center of the frame. We used 16 GB CF card, shot on studio on camera with firmware build 21.4.1. In that particular scene we have 10 clips, the problem starts at clip 4 and appear until clip 8.
When i checked the proxy (_M) i could not see anything wrong, when viewed in RedCine X the black line only appear when seen using Full debayer setting, 1/2 res and less gives a light line instead of black.
In the first frame of clip 4 the image looks like corrupted data, that's why I only use clip 4 to get the still frames that shows the problem. We exported the stills from RedCine X, using the 3 debayering settings (Full, Half res Premium & half res Good) to DPX 10bit 1920x1080. Each has 2 frames, 1st frame shows corrupted data, 2nd frame shows the line that appears in all the problematic clips.
Is this from the camera, CF, or maybe there's a bug in firmware? What should we do? Now we can't let anybody rent the camera until we can be sure the camera isn't the cause. What's the solution for this?
Here's the stills from Full debayer, i'll upload the full DPX later if anyone wants to take a look.
