  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

RedCineX won't export into seperate folders for each "event"

I can't find a way with RedCineX to export image sequences like the old RedCine used to do. What I want is for RedCineX to export each shot in the order it appears in my timeline with ascending names (ie EVENT001, EVENT002, etc. etc.). Right now Red is sending my image sequences (.tif) into folders that match the name of the Red file, which is incredibly annoying. It causes two problems :

1.) My shots are out of order. Makes it much harder for me to rename them correctly for FX.

2.) Individual image sequences that come from the same "shot" are being combined into one folder. This is incredibly annoying as some of my edits are seamless making it very hard to seperate the image sequences for renaming and sending over to FX.

I've tried all three "naming" settings in the export dialogue box and none of them are giving me a solution that works. Is there a setting in there that I'm missing to simply export as the old RedCine did it? This works much better for my workflow.

Thanks,
Sam

Nobody?

I gotta say, I'm HUGELY disappointed in Red for ditching their entire post backbone with one build upgrade. RedCineX seems like a cool program and it's got some good stuff in it, but come on, it can't even export SGIs! Crimons doesn't support it. It doesn't have RedLine!

I understand if they wanted to do a fresh start with their post programs, but man, at least make sure that what you're replacing it with works as good as what you're replacing. Jeez.

i agree it seems like we definitely took a few steps back. All I really want is simple renders out of Red rushes that work with the current color science. Is that too ridiculous?
