We just released a new software app that allows you to log footage on set, right after each shot is taken while the details of the shot are fresh in your mind.

When you are finished shooting for the day, we Batch Connect™ the annotated place holder clips with the actual video clips and then you can export to Final Cut Pro. This allows you to start editing instantly with a fully annotated clip bin.

The software also allows you to place Real Time Markers™ as you are recording the clips, another time saving feature that will help the editor find important spots without having to scan through the clip.

Shot Logger Pro will save you time, money, headaches and allow you to finish projects much quicker.

You can read more about it here: http://www.shotloggerpro.com/Home.html

There is a Demo you can download and play with.

Feel free to ask questions, I am happy to answer them.

Looks pretty cool. But has a lot of overlap with Clipfinder which is a mere $100, which is more the market rate for this kind of tool I feel, although your bluetooth functionality is different.

Also, it'd need to have customisable fields - there's no field for Slate, Location, Int/Ext, Day/Nite, CamRoll/Mag, Sound/MOS, or other fields for documentary, corporate, weddings or whatever.

I am not sure I see the "overlap" with clipfinder. Thanks for the feedback, I am pretty sure that the fields you mention are not fields available in FCP.

SLP is going to allow you to log your shot on set and allow you to instantly start editing an organized FCP project when you are done.

I am pretty certain that if you log on set with our app, the cost of the software will pay for itself in no time, considering how much time you will save not having to watch and log footage in FCP.

Also note that our software works with many different cameras, not just RED.

If it's only for using with FCP that makes perfect sense, although when you're logging and wanting to print out a report for an editor, the other fields are definitely useful, albeit not for direct FCP use.

The point is that Clipfinder finds itself on many, many RED shoots, especially the bigger projects where shot logging becomes more of a requirement. Apart from it's essential conforming uses, it also serves as a pretty good shot logger. To have a reason to use your program instead then requires it to have enough functionality to essentially replace Clipfinder (it makes little sense to use both).

I can however see that it would be great on non-RED, non timecode projects! :)

Clipfinder is also good for QT 5D/7D style shoots and Hans recently sent me a version that has a more accurate histogram which I'm sure will be in the next release. I look forward to playing with the demo though.

The main point of Shot Logger Pro is that you are logging clips as they happen, while the details of each shot are fresh. Logging in real time is a huge timesaver.

I do not see the similarity between the two apps. I can see using both in conjunction to further optimize workflow.

I will make you an offer you can't refuse.. first 3 people to PM me can purchase the software for $50, you save $250!!! I only ask that you spread the word about our product after you start using it.
