Just a quick question....

If you are using an Scarlet/Epic with the hand grip and screen is the Redmote required to operate the camera?

Thanks

James

REDmote

REDmote

No, the Side Handle / Grip and the REDmote perform similar functions...

Good to know. What does the Redmote (not the Redmote Pro) do that the Side Handle does not? (Or vise versa if that is the case.)

Pretty much Redmote has a screen and is wireless & control multiple cameras

Thanks for the heads up. Stuart- is it possible to get a confirmation that those are the only differences, or are things still changing to much?

REDmote or Side Handle

REDmote or Side Handle

Yes, that is essentially the difference. REDmote can act as a multi-camera wireless controller.

This may be a stupid question, but here goes anyway...

Can you use an Epic / Scarlet without a Redmote OR a Side Handle? (i.e. Can it be controlled entirely using the LCD touchscreen?)

Yes. Although Side Handle and REDmote make it faster/easier.
They each have their advantages.

Can one REDmote be switched to control several Epic/Scarlet independently, although not necessarily at the same time?

Can one REDmote control several Epic/Scarlet simultaneously - eg for 3D, or just for simultaneous stop/start?

Can several REDmotes be used on the same set, each controlling a different camera, without interference. What is the maximum number of control channels (focus, iris, zoom, other) on one set?

Cool - thanks Stuart!

I guess you aren't ready yet to answer the question about the maximum number of control channels (focus, iris, zoom, other) on one set?

Yes.

Yes.

Yes.

Hehe, I had to quote this one, I just love when Stuart says YES!! ;)

The Redmote wil sure bring something sweet to the table, that of which alone will be a piece of gear that will bring new realms of possibilities to free the imagination and creativity, can't wait. Off Course I'll go for the Redmote Pro ;)

Is there going to be an SDK or app store for the RedMotes?
